Acquisition Announcement

We are pleased to announce that Eastern Insurance has acquired Hokanson Insurance Agency, Inc., a respected leader in the Massachusetts employee benefit marketplace.  Effective October 1st, the Hokanson brokerage team joined Eastern Benefits Group forming one the largest and most accomplished employee benefits practices in Massachusetts.  Based in Hanover, MA, Hokanson serves over 400 clients and represents over $100,000,000 in premium.  The Agency is staffed with 13 well-trained, service oriented insurance professionals with extensive benefits experience.

Hokanson Insurance Agency, Inc. was incorporated in 1992 by Herbert Hokanson, Jr. and Kevin Hokanson, who were later joined by Scott Hokanson and Brian Charon.  Hokanson Insurance Agency has built an exceptional reputation in the insurance industry since its inception.  Hokanson maintains expertise in employee benefits brokerage and also serves as a managing general underwriter (MGU) for Stop Loss Insurance for self-insured health plans.

Although Hokanson Insurance will continue to operate under its current name through December 31st, the staff has already merged with our Eastern Benefits division, expanding our outstanding employee benefits and life insurance sales and service team south of Boston.

We are confident that this acquisition will support our continued growth and enhance our ability to provide our clients with the highest level of service and expertise.
