Michael B. Uretsky, CLU, CLTC
Senior Vice President

Michael is responsible for growing the Executive Benefits and Wealth Management Practice of Eastern Benefits Group. He has extensive knowledge and experience in working with business owners and professionals on their employee benefits, business and estate planning needs. Michael is able to provide clients with Eastern's entire suite of financial services; a fully integrated approach with customized solutions tailored to the unique individual and business needs of each client.

Prior to joining Eastern Insurance Group's Employee Benefits Unit, Michael served as a Managing Director and was a perennial leading insurance sales producer for a Regional insurance brokerage company in MA. Michael began his career as an underwriter of group insurance and a wholesale group representative with MetLife. Three years later he joined MassMutual in their Boston Sales Office as an Agent for their individual life, disability and annuity products. There he learned the individual life insurance business and developed his product knowledge and expertise while building his own Employee Benefits practice.

Some of Michael's business accomplishments include the creation of a preferred underwriting life insurance program for members of the Massachusetts Judges Conference and the development and implementation of the Massachusetts Bankers Association Long-Term Care insurance (LTCi) program. He has conducted numerous consumer and employee benefit LTCi educational seminars and installed LTCi Executive Carve-Out plans in several local banks and some of the area's largest law firms.

Additionally, Michael served on the "Working Group" of the LTC Task Force that consulted and advised the Massachusetts Division of Insurance prior to amending LTC insurance regulation 211CMR 65.00. Michael also provided guidance to the Office of the Attorney General on Long-Term Care Insurance suitability standards and helped in the drafting and editing of the consumer guide titled "Your Options for Financing Long-Term Care: A Massachusetts Guide". In addition, he has also authored several articles on long-term care insurance and has been published in Accounting Today, Life & Health Advisor, Employee Benefit News, and Newstrack tape service.

Michael is proven leader in his community where he served as President of Temple Emanu-el in Marblehead MA . He was recognized by the Jewish Federation of the North Shore with the Michael Steinberg Young Leadership Award in 1999 and the Jewish Family Service Award 2001-2002. He is a recipient of a Congressional Citation for his community service in May 2002. A graduate of Williams College and Noble and Greenough School, he is married with two children and lives in Marblehead , MA
